Need advice frm women or men in the army navy airforce!!!!!?

Im planning on joing the navy!! Im 19yrz old female...Right now im training gotta get down 20 pounds by april 26..I have alot of questions

1. hows the pay???

2. Is boot camp as bad as ppl make it seem???

3. How are women treated compared to the men???

4. is there alot of women???Need advice frm women or men in the army navy airforce!!!!!?
1. The pay is great and the benefits package is even better, on active duty and in retirement.

2. Boot camp is not that bad if you pay attention, keep quiet and do exactly what you are told to do exactly the way you are told to do it. The purpose is to break down your individuality and teach you how to be a team member.

3. All are treated equally, although physical requirements are different.

4. There are quite a few women.

Regarding your need for weight loss, try The South Beach Diet which excludes sugar, white flour and bad carbs. I have lost 25 pounds in three months. Good luck to you and thank you for serving your country.

The pay depends on your rank. Higher rank, higher pay.

Here's a pay chart you can look at.

Basic training in the Navy is definitely more mentally challenging than physically, but it's no walk in the park either. Watch some videos on basic training, do some research. Don't let people tell you that Navy basic is a piece of cake. No basic training/boot camp is that easy.

Women are treated the same. They do the same things as men, the only difference is the fitness standards are a little lower since women naturally don't have as much strength as men.

There's more women in the Air Force than any other branch really. Navy would be second for most women.
pish posh, Navy boot camp was EASY. the only hard part is being confined with a bunch of other females... things get magnified in boot camp and you get pissed at each other for the silliest things! it really is mind over matter. i never ran a day in my life before boot camp and i passed every thing with flying colors!

there are the current military pay charts. i lived in the barracks and had a 140/month car payment, 70/month cell, 100/insurance and i had plenty of money to go booze it up or whatever every couple of weeks when we got paid.

women are treated the same as men {in my experience anyhow...}, but remember... as a female, there are two things you can be in the military... a betch or a whore. i knew plenty of both! me, i was a betch, and sometimes you get a hard time about it, but the same dudes that gave me a hard time are still some of my dearest friends and i've been out for almost 4 years now.

it's just like having a regular civilian job... some parts you aren't gonna like so much, and some you are just going to love. the experience that you gain is invaluable. you work hard, but it is SO worth it.

good luck! you'll love it :)
Boot camp is easy as long as you know you will be treated like a stray dog.
1. The pay is great especially if you don't have a job right now. It gets even better when you get promoted or get married.

2. Boot camp is very difficult but not very demanding. They do anything and everything to keep you in the program. Bottom line, most people get so home sick that they start to act up and drop out. Expect to get homesick. Most people your age have never been away from home more than a week or so. Keep your mouth shut and pay attention. You learn a lot by watching others screw up.

3. Women are treated just like men. However, if you start to act weak or use your sexuality to gain an advantage it will bite you in the butt sooner or later. Same thing for a man...if he acts weak it will bite him in the butt. Military people care about three things...getting paid, time off, and people doing their own jobs.

4. If you're going into the Navy you will see a lot of women. However, jobs on ships are limited. So if you're attached to a ship then the number of women will drop drastically. Unless you get attached to a carrier. Lots of women on those bad boys nowadays.
i was in navy and i can only tell you my story. the pay was great ok the pay was ok but you also get a free place to live and free food. no electric bill, etc. / boot camp was a joke I realized real quick that as long as you jump when they say jump. it is easy. a little bit physically demanding but nothing too hard. women are treated pretty fair. i have seen a few ';older generation'; navy guys that didn't believe women belong there but nothing they could do. there is some sexual harassment that goes on but isn't there everywhere. alot of women no but you will not be the only one there is probably 1 female for every 8 guys. but hey there is never a line to go to the bathroom. I loved my time in the navy I would recommend it for anyone. the thing to remember is if you didnt like something change it respectfully requesting things will get you everywhere in the navy.
